Oracle recently said it would stop developing new versions of its database and other software for Intel’s Itanium chips, which HP uses in server systems along with HP-UX. The decision sparked a controversy that ultimately led HP to file a lawsuit against Oracle, saying the move was in violation of agreements between the companies and was meant to force customers onto Oracle’s hardware. EnterpriseDB is hoping to capitalize on any unrest in the HP installed base, and says it is already talking to some HP-UX customers....

A recent confirmation from Entity Gaming’s leader GHATAK informed that the team’s Aman will be joining SouL shortly. Aman Jain who is widely recognized as EntityAMAN was once a member of SouL’s clan and was a part of team Velocity for a brief while. He had joined Entity Gaming in August 2019. Entity Gaming’s IGL GHATAK went live on his YouTube channel Ghatak Gaming on November 29, 2019, confirmed that AMAN will be leaving the team shortly after PMCO to join team SouL....

According to the IPCC, the Arctic might have no summer sea ice as early as 2050, something that has not happened for about a million years. A Plague Tale: Innocence was supposed to be joined by Speed Brawl as the free Epic Games Store games for August 5 to August 12, but Speed Brawl is not currently free for whatever reason. In its place is Minit, a quirky adventure game that’s gimmick is that it’s meant to be played 1 minute at a time. Minit earned mostly positive reviews at the time of its release, higher than Speed Brawl, so it seems Epic Games Store users don’t have to be disappointed with the free game offerings....

Nikko Eterovich, a commercial fisherman based in Hilo Harbour, caught the diamond squid on February 1. He said it was the biggest squid he has ever caught. According to the fisherman, the squid’s weight broke the Hawaii state record. Eterovich told local television station KHON2 that the heaviest diamondback squid ever caught in Hawaii weighed 28.5 pounds. His catch weighed approximately 33.5 pounds. In addition to confirming a concrete release date, Epic Games released a gameplay trailer for Fortnite, which features a cool-toned cyberpunk visual palette, hordes of massive monsters, and dangerous lightning storms. The clip also centers on the protagonists’ secret weapons against their undead foes: expansive forts (hence the game’s title), deadly explosives, and mounds of loot. Fortnite follows the aforementioned heroes as they venture through the vast and diverse in-game world, which is teeming with valuables to scavenge....

The Unreal Engine DX11 demo screamed “next gen” with evolutionary detail and polish, showing evidence of what the future of gaming will hold. There is also another message within the demo, however. The developers at Epic Games, however, do not always have original ideas when it comes to crafting the dance moves players can use in Fortnite. There have been official uses of famous dances from songs such as PSY’s “Gangnam Style,” though on occasion Epic Games has landed itself in some legal trouble for allegedly stealing dances from creators. In 2018, a slew of lawsuits were thrown at the company by dancers who believed their dances had been used illegally in Fortnite’s emotes....

In the thirteen-page legal filing — filed in the Federal Court of Australia — Epic Games claims that the decisions over in-app purchases and banning Fortnite from the App Store breaches the Australian Consumer Law and various sections of the Competition and Consumer Act, particularly Section 46 which was added in 2017 following a 2015 review into Australian consumer protection law. This section is intended to prevent companies which hold a large amount of power like Apple from engaging in anti-competition acts....
