Night in the Woods is definitely a game EGS users shouldn’t pass buy, even if a narrative game isn’t their favorite genre. The game is set in Possum Springs where protagonist Mae has returned to their home town after deciding not to continue college. As they reintegrate with the small-town life, a larger mystery unfolds involving severed arms and a cult hiding in plain sight. How much of what’s going on is real and how much is in Mae’s head is left for them to explore.

All that’s necessary in order to acquire the free Night in the Woods offering is to have an Epic Games Store account. Users simply log in, then go to the storefront’s main page. The Holiday Sale is currently taking up the top of the page, but scrolling down will reveal a Free Games section with Night in the Woods now available. Treat it like a normal purchase, as the price will adjust to $0.00 when checking out. Availability will end on December 28 at 8:00 AM PT.
Luckily, when Night in the Woods is no longer available, that means another free game will have taken its place. The Epic Games Store 15 Days of Free Games is just over two-thirds of the way finished. That means that after Night in the Woods, there will still be four remaining free games.
For those curious what the next games will be, a leak from early on during the 15 Days of Free games has proven accurate so far. If it remains reliable, then tomorrow’s game will be Stranded Deep. Stranded Deep is a first-person survival game, tasking the player to stay alive on a deserted island after their jet crashes in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
After Stranded Deep is released, three more games will be shared day by day until the event ends with the new year. The remaining three games will be Solitairica on the 29, Torchlight 2 on the 30, and Jurassic World Evolution on the 31. Hopefully, there’s a game for everyone remaining in Epic Games Store’s last 15 Days of Free Games offerings.
