Every year at this time, the Epic Games Store begins giving away free games every day instead of every Thursday. It’s an exciting time for users of the service, as many beloved indie gems get highlighted but also major AAA games get released on the service. This year, fans have gotten games like Death Stranding, Metro: Last Light, and some classic Fallout games.

Dishonored hardly needs any introduction, as it is from Deathloop developer Arkane Studios and sees players take on the role of a supernatural assassin. Luckily, though, the definitive edition comes with all of its DLC, including Dunwall City Trials, The Knife of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches, and Void Walker’s Arsenal. On the other hand, Eximius is a solid indie gem many may not have heard of. It is an FPS/RTS hybrid game, featuring 5v5 squad-based combat between 4 Squad Officers and 1 Commander. The commanders play via an RTS set-up as they organize the field and support the Squad officers, who via FPS gameplay, must battle others and secure valuable resources.
Epic Games Store December 2022-January 2023 List
Dishonored Definitive Edition (December 29 at 10 am CT - January 5 at 10 am CT) Eximius: Seize the Frontline (December 29 at 10 am CT - January 5 at 10 am CT) Shadow Tactics - Aiko’s Choice (January 5 at 10 am CT - January 12 at 10 am CT) Kerbal Space Program (January 5 at 10 am CT - January 12 at 10 am CT)
Aiko’s Choice is a stealth-based RTS set in the Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun universe; alongside Aiko, players control a small party of characters to take on her former sensei. It should be noted that fans do not need to own Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun to play Aiko’s Choice. Meanwhile, Kerbal Space Program is an indie simulation game where players lead an expedition throughout the stars by creating functional spacecraft, exploring moons and other locations, constructing bases, and so on.
It should come as no surprise that the Epic Games Store will continue its giveaways into 2023, but fans can expect more like this in the coming year too. The holidays for the new year are obviously a long way away, but major promotions, big releases, and indie gems will take place throughout the year regardless.
Epic Games Store users get a handful of free games every month.
