While the big name console manufacturers are vying for people dollars this holiday season, on PC, its a battle of the launchers. Steam, for many, is the go-to game launcher on PC, with an immense catalog of games new, old, and everywhere in between. Epic Games Store has been the new kid on the block for a couple of years now but has carved out a strong community of users through its exclusive game acquisitions like recent Ubisoft titles in Far Cry 6 and Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. Furthermore, Epic Games Store users have benefitted from an assortment of free games and add-ons every month, with all of November’s free games already being announced.

From now until November 30, Epic Games Store users can get some of the year’s best deals on games in the Black Friday 2021 sale. The first thing that players will see when booting up the Black Friday 2021 section of the Epic Games Store is its “First Time on Sale!” section, featuring discounts on AAA games released in just the past few months. It is a small but solid collection, starting with the Ubisoft duo of Far Cry 6 at 17% off for $49.79 and Riders Republic at 25% for $44.99. On the back end of this section is Kena: Bridge of Spirits at 10% off for $35.99, Back 4 Blood at 30% off for $41.99, and the Crysis Remastered Trilogy at 20% off for $39.99.
As for games from this year that have been on sale before, Humankind, the recent The Game Awards 2021 nominee for Best Sim/Strategy Game, is available for $39.99. IO Interactive’s Hitman 3 is only $23.99, a whopping 60% off, and World War Z Aftermath is on sale for $29.99 down from $39.99. There are discounts on add-ons, including Rocket League’s Red Hot Bundle, 50% off for just $14.99, and the Paladins Season Pass 2021, now only $20.99.
As far as timeliness goes, it appears that the Epic Games Store beat Steam to Black Friday deals. It will be interesting to see what it comes with for discounts, especially on the games that overlap between both game providers. Regardless, players should peruse the Epic Games Store themselves to see if there is anything appealing. Now might be the best chance to get some of these games before the Epic Games Store prices go back up.
